EURAXESS UK Webinar Recording - "MSCA Experiences in the UK"

On 27 June EURAXESS UK held a webinar on Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Experiences in the UK

. 

It focused on individual's experiences, as an MSCA PhD student or an MSCA fellow in the UK. As well as providing an overview of the current UK situation. It highlighted opportunities as a result of the decision for the UK to associate with Horizon Europe. Plus provided information on the Marie Curie Alumni Association. This recording would be especially useful for international researchers currently interested in coming to the UK with MSCA.

ERC Starting grant are for researchers of any nationality with 2-7 yearsexperience since completion of PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal can apply. Any field of research is eligible.

Apply for reviewer or panel roles - British Council ISPF

The British Council is inviting expressions of interest from early-career to senior-career researchers to act as reviewers and panel members for proposals submitted under the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF).

 

Reviewers and panel members are required to be researchers in full-time academic positions. Peer review is a fundamental part of the assessment process. As a reviewer or panel member, you will receive in-depth knowledge of these processes, including a deeper understanding of the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) and the importance of inclusive research practices, which can further develop your reviewing and proposal writing skills. Being part of the decision-making process will also give you a broad view of the novel ideas coming through the funding pipeline.

Funding - EPSRC Core Equipment Award 2024

Apply for funding to purchase multi-user equipment at departmental, interdepartmental or regional scale. The equipment nature is mainly enabling research. The level of equipment is £10,000 to £400,000. You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funding.

Funding - ESRC UK-Brazil global talent exchange scheme

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) seeks to improve the connectivity between UK and Brazilian social science research communities. 

 

This opportunity will allow early career researchers to develop new collaborations which will benefit their future research and professional development. The UK project lead must be eligible for ESRC funding and are expected to develop equitable partnerships with researchers based in Brazil. The involvement of an eligible project co-lead (international) based in Brazil is mandatory.

Funding - UK-China ISPF Symposium on Resilient Planet

 

Call to early-career researchers based in the UK: apply to join and contribute to a fully funded international symposium hosted by the British Council on the theme of Resilient Planet, part of the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF). In partnership with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) China.

  

From 4 to 6 November 2024, in Beijing. The UK-China Symposium on Resilient Planet will bring together early-career researchers, senior researchers, and policymakers from the UK and China. The symposium will offer opportunities for early-career researchers to discuss their research, exchange ideas and establish connections for possible future activities.

Funding - STFC Africa-UK physics partnership collaborative research projects

 

Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) funding for collaborative physics-led projects addressing the challenges of climate change, energy, and capacity building in physics across African economies and societies.

 

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for STFC funding and have a project co-lead based at a research organisation in Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, or Uganda. The total fund amount is £5 million. STFC will fund 10 to 15 projects lasting up to 24 months.
