Government Office for Science - Engagement Guidance
A guidance document on "Routes for academic engagement with Government" has been published by the (UK) Government Office for Science. The website shows various opportunities available for academics, industry professionals and scientific experts to get involved and share their expertise with government. With opportunities for all levels of experience. From STEM apprenticeships, UKRI Internships and Fellowships, ARIs, right through to Scientific Advisory Committees and Councils (SACs).

British Council Gender Equality Partnerships Grants 2024–25
The British Council Going Global Partnerships team have launched this year's call for Gender Equality Partnerships. These partnerships support higher and further education collaborations between the UK and other countries to address priority gender equality themes. Grant amount: £25,000. Grant length: 12 months.
This programme enables outstanding academics from any country overseas to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution of their choice for up to six months and develop collaborative projects with UK colleagues. Open to any discipline within the humanities and social sciences. Grant amount: up to £40,000. Grant length: 3-6 months.
Chevening is the UK government’s global scholarship programme. The Chevening programme is seeking experienced, UK-based assessors to be part of reading committees for its 2025–26 scholarship and fellowship applications. Chevening offers two types of awards:
Scholarships - a one-year taught master’s degree in any subject and at any UK higher education institution.
Fellowships - either a bespoke short course or a research project based in the UK for between two to 12 months. Fellowship awards are only available in certain regions.
The reading committees will conduct scholarship and fellowship application assessments between 18 November 2024 and 5 January 2025.
British Council Disability Inclusion Partnerships Grants 2024/25
Grants with a focus on inclusion of people with disabilities in research environments. Partnership projects can take a variety of forms, including a research study, a needs analysis, action research, developing and delivering training to leadership/staff/students on disability awareness and inclusion. Grant amount: up to £25,000. Grant length: 12 months. Countries: UK with Indonesia, Kenya, Pakistan or Uzbekistan
British Academy- Talent Development Awards 2024-25
The Talent Development Awards scheme promotes the building of skills and capacities for current and future generations, including in core areas like quantitative skills, interdisciplinarity, data science, digital humanities and languages. This scheme promotes the acquisition and advancement of skills in relevant areas by UK-based researchers. Grant amount: up to £10,000. Grant length: 6-12 months.
Royal Academy of Engineering - Ingenious Public Engagement Grants
Royal Academy of Engineering call for Ingenious Public Engagement Grants. A grants scheme for projects that engage the UK public with engineers and engineering and provide engineers with skills and opportunities in public engagement. Projects that reach diverse and underrepresented audiences are prioritised. Grant amount: up to £30,000.
International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF) - Early Career Fellowships Scheme
Grants for UK higher education and research institutions to host international cohorts of early-career researchers in the 2025-26 academic year. Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Grant amount: £180,000 (to fund 3 Early Career Fellows). Length of placement: 6-12 months
Women TechEU aims to ignite the potential of women-led early-stage start-ups in deep tech. Across 2 years, there will be 4 calls for applications.160 talented women entrepreneurs from all over the European Union and Horizon Europe associated countries will be receiving direct support. Grant amount: €75,000, as well as a personalised business development programme including mentoring, coaching and training. Grant length: 6 months.

Learn about Horizon Europe opportunities and understand how to access funding from the world's largest research funding pot. With a budget of €93.5 billion, from 2021 to 2027.
A new European Research Area (ERA)Talent Platform has been launched by the European Commission. Designed as a solution for researchers and research performing organisations. This comprehensive online gateway offers access to a range of services, including EURAXESS service centres and portals, the HR Excellence in Research initiative, the RESAVER pension scheme, the Innovation Talent Platform and the Research and Innovation Careers Observatory.
EURAXESS UK is a British Council managed portal which aids researchers in their career development, supporting researchers moving to, and from, the UK. In addition to providing useful information and resources, the EURAXESS portal features a free funding database and job search tool.
