The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Staff Exchanges 2024 call is open. €99.5 million is available to fund around 90 projects promoting cooperation around the globe in research and innovation. The call promotes innovative international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration through exchanging staff and sharing knowledge and ideas.
Secondments are the main method to foster cooperation among organisations participating in Staff Exchanges. Selected projects exchange and train researchers and innovators, as well as administrative, technical or managerial staff involved in research activities. Participants go abroad for up to 12 months. Consortia must consist of at least 3 organisations from 3 different countries. The scheme is part of Horizon Europe. Information day on 15 November.

UK Research Office (UKRO), acting as the UK National Contact Point for the European Research Council (ERC), is organising an Information Webinar on the 2025 ERC Consolidator Grant call in the UK. For researchers based in, or moving to, the UK, and the research support staff, who are interested in submitting a proposal to the 2025 ERC Consolidator Grant call. Over €2.7 billion in ERC grants will be available for 2025.
REA Prize - EU Award for Gender Equality Champions
European Research Executive Agency (REA) EU Award for Gender Equality Champions. Open to universities, higher education institutions, and other research performing organisations (public or private). Each winner will receive a trophy and a €100,000 prize.
There are 3 prize categories:
1. Sustainable Gender Equality Champions: Recognizing organisations with a long-term, high-achieving GEP.
2. Newcomer Gender Equality Champions: Celebrating organisations that have recently implemented their first GEP with notable progress.
3. Inclusive Gender Equality Champions: Honoring organisations with innovative GEPs addressing multiple social categories and showing concrete results.
Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Sandpit: AI decision support for national security and defence. Apply to attend a five-day interactive interdisciplinary sandpit to develop projects on decision support using artificial intelligence (AI), for national security and defence applications. Participants selected to attend must do so for all online and in-person days. You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for EPSRC funding.
The British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grants are available to support primary research in the humanities and social sciences. These awards, up to £10,000 in value and 1 to 24 months, are provided to cover the cost of the expenses arising from a defined research project. Open to postdoctoral scholars (or equivalent) who are ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom.
